If you are living in the world today it means we are in this together in this same precise moment in time and space. So you all know what’s up and how difficult it has been to stay afloat.
Let us explain ourselves, so we can let you know what is currently going on at Marla.
As many of you may know, we have been working and fighting for this place for some years now – 5 to be exact.
During these years we have learned that we are not just a record shop, but a physical space with a mix of lunatics, friends from many places, artists of different backgrounds and, most of all, human beings sharing the same experience of trying to understand this unique path called life.
Like many of you, we have been experiencing difficult and strange times. Personally, professionally, and especially financially. We have been putting in a lot of work and efforts to create this place, without any monetary gains to provide for the staff’s salary so far. We have reached our limit where we cannot continue in this way anymore, as we are in hollow grounds.
So as a kind of a celebration and an instrument of redemption we are reaching out to you, the music lovers, dancers and sonic enthusiasts. We understand how difficult it is right now, and we have tried very hard to avoid asking for help, but we have also realized that we are nothing without the power of the crowd. We are so thankful for all of the years that you have come and supported us. We have learned so much and we want to continue giving to the city that has given us so much.
